The post cited an Oct. 8 story by Bob Unrue at the right-wing WorldNetDaily website, which did not include the same illustration. A snippet of the Wake Up America page with the illustration is pictured at right.
Reporting on Wake Up America post at her blog Isaac Hunter's Tavern, WUNC Radio reporter Laura Leslie said she asked Brock if he'd made the graphic himself:
He said no, he suspected it was probably from another website, but he'd check with his web editor.Wake Up America's founders include North Carolina state Sen. Andrew Brock (R-Davie) and Rep. Bryan Holloway (R-Stokes), as well as Raleigh businessman and Republican activist Will Head.
I've left two messages for Brock, asking to talk about the picture. I'll let you know what I hear.
UPDATE: In an e-mail exchange with WUNC Radio reporter Leslie, Sen. Brock first defended the questionable graphic by saying the editor who posted it "saw it as Obama disregarding the long standing relationship between the state of Israel and the US." Questioned by a skeptical Leslie, Brock then said the person responsible for posting the graphic was "ashamed and apologetic" for what the Senator described as an "error."

Good find, Sue - this is outrageous! The Obama campaign symbol framed within a Star of David is supposed to suggest that the President is disregarding a long-standing relationship with Israel? If it's an "error" then, at a minimum, it seems like they hired the kind of web designer you might find at the local KKK gathering.
