For the first time in its 131 year history, the Kentucky Derby will have
corporate sponsorship. Churchill Downs has signed a five year sponsorship deal with Louisville-based Yum Brands, owners of KFC, Pizza Hut, and other fast food chains. The event will be called "The Kentucky Derby presented by Yum! Brands." Somebody pass me a "Mint Julep presented by Woodford Reserve".

Why is it so easy for advertisers to turn ordinary nouns into slogans? The network that carries the event is probably contractually obligated to stuff marketing slogans into the title. I hope they get a discount because this dilutes their own ability to sell "messages". But why a print reporter, for instance, would ever use the whole venal phrase I don't get.
(Hi, ol' buddy!)
Woodford Reserve? I suggest "Old Whiskey River." Willie Nelson's Bourbon. If it is endorsed by the Red-headed Stranger it can't be all bad. As a matter of fact: It is damn good.
