Work And Community Program

The South’s long, unique history of poverty and underdevelopment continues with policies that foster “low road” development and undermine economic security. The Work and Community Program provides in-depth research, policy support, and other technical assistance to constituencies working to improve the lives of low-income and working communities in the South.

In 2006-2007, the Work and Community Program is focusing on:

  1. Promoting accountable development, especially the fair and equitable use of economic development subsidies, and

  2. worker’s rights, exposing threats to dignity on the job and innovative approaches to protect workers.
